A great introduction to E-biking while learning about the early history of the Outer Banks in a beautiful wooded setting. Within minutes you'll travel from the beach to the solitude of a maritime forest. The rolling shaded trail is a unique setting of southern pines, northern hardwoods, and algae-covered ponds. In the 1800s, a century before modern beach tourism, the trail was the main road between the villages of Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. You'll pass by old cemeteries and foundations of houses in this centuries-old homestead of Native Americans, “lost” Colonists, and local “Bankers.” Your modern E-Bike is like a time travel machine, and your guide will point out the features while you enjoy a relaxing effortless ride boosted with e-power. You won’t believe you’re at the beach! The Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve can only be explored by bike on the Nags Head Woods Road and our trained guide will point out hidden features not normally noticed.
If you rent you and you can also tour without a guide, but you must only travel on the main road and please ride responsibly in this precious nature conserve.
